The Stories We Used to Know
This was one of my favorite things to see from the trip. The Sinagua people who lived in the area believed that the cracks in the rock were the entrances and exits to the place of the dead. Spirits could come and go as they please. This glyph shows a funeral procession with the dead soul being thrown into the crack in the rock- to the place of the dead.
